Swan 58

The Swan 58 is a bluewater performance cruiser introduced by Nautor's Swan of Finland in 2020, marking the first time the builder has offered a yacht of this exact size. Naval architect Germán Frers penned the hull and rig while Misa Poggi handled interior design. The brief was to create a fast, fully ocean-capable yacht that a couple could manage shorthanded without sacrificing the luxury finish for which Nautor's Swan is renowned.

Measuring 62 feet 8 inches overall with a hull length of just under 59 feet, the Swan 58 is positioned as a true bluewater cruiser-racer in the mid-range of the Swan line-up. Its fractional sloop rig carries a carbon mast and three sets of swept spreaders, and the boat is available with standard, shallow, telescopic, or racing keel options, giving buyers considerable flexibility in draft.

The hull is built primarily from vinylester vacuum-infused fibreglass with carbon fibre reinforcement in key structural areas, a process that balances build quality, stiffness, and weight. Frers drew slightly softer forward sections compared to smaller Swan models, a deliberate choice to smooth out the motion in a seaway and reduce pitching on the wind. The carbon mast further aids this by keeping weight aloft to a minimum, and Nautor concentrates heavy systems, tankage, and the chain locker low and amidships to maintain a low centre of gravity.

Twin rudders are standard, and the fin keel is available in multiple configurations to suit racing, coastal cruising, or deep-ocean passages. The large swimming platform aft incorporates a tender garage, and the deck layout places all sail controls within easy reach of the twin helm stations, allowing two people to handle the boat confidently.

On the water the Swan 58 has earned praise for combining comfortable motion with genuine pace. In light airs around six to seven knots the boat readily achieves upwind speeds between 6.5 and 7.5 knots, and in force four to five conditions it sustains around nine to ten knots on a reach with very little pitching or slamming. The helm feels precise and responsive for a yacht displacing around 25 tonnes, and the hull's balanced underwater shape comes into its own when heeled at approximately 20 degrees. With its extended fuel option of up to 1,580 litres, the Swan 58 can motor-sail well over 1,000 nautical miles, making it genuinely capable for extended offshore passages.

The fractional sloop rig with bowsprit accommodates a large gennaker of 3,595 square feet, and five electric winches are positioned at each helm station so that sail trimming rarely requires leaving the cockpit. The extra-large cockpit can be configured as an open-air dining area for up to ten people when at anchor.

Below decks the Swan 58 offers a standard three-cabin arrangement that can be expanded to four cabins. The owner's suite is positioned forward with a large athwartships double bed measuring 205 by 165 centimetres, flanked by removable leeboards for offshore sleeping. Two generous quarter cabins aft each offer the option of twin berths or a queen-size island bed, and all three cabins have their own heads, two of which include separate shower compartments.

The saloon runs more than five metres in length with over two metres of headroom and draws natural light through four hull windows as well as overhead hatches. A 360-degree galley features dual fridge-freezer units, deep fiddles, and ample work surfaces. The navigation station can be specified in five different configurations, from a traditional forward-facing chart table to an office-style desk layout. Three interior style packages — Swan Soul, Scandi Vision, and Velvet Vibe — let owners personalise the finish and colour palette.
