Rustler 42
Overview
The Rustler 42 is a traditional offshore cruiser built by Rustler Yachts in Falmouth, Cornwall, to a design by Stephen Jones. Hand-moulded and fitted out in-house, she is conceived as a rugged, up-for-anything bluewater yacht that combines classic looks with modern detailing.
Construction
Below the waterline she has a deep canoe body with a long fin keel and a substantial skeg-hung rudder for directional stability and load-carrying. The lead keel is encapsulated, doing away with keel bolts and creating a sump that allows generous fuel and water tankage — a deliberately conservative, seaworthy underbody.
Under Sail
She is rigged as a cutter, breaking her roughly 1,135 sq ft of sail into smaller, easily handled sails well suited to offshore work and short-handed crews. The keel-stepped, double-spreader alloy mast reflects a yacht built for passage-making rather than inshore speed.

Accommodation
Internally the 42 is a two-cabin yacht. The master cabin forward has a large double V-berth with ample stowage and an en-suite with separate shower, while the aft cabin, entered abaft the galley, offers good headroom and stowage — a layout aimed at a couple cruising long-term with occasional guests.
