Oyster 575

The Oyster 575 is a 57-footer from the British yard's well-known centre-cockpit bluewater range, drawn by Humphreys Yacht Design and built between 2010 and 2017. She sits in the heart of the Oyster line as a yacht intended to be sailed across oceans by an owner and partner, yet finished to a high standard of comfort.

The hull and deck are a composite of GRP, carbon and Kevlar, combining stiffness with a measure of impact resistance. Underwater she carries a fin keel and a spade rudder — a more performance-oriented configuration than the traditional long-keel cruiser, contributing to her reputation as a quick yacht for her type.

Rigged as a masthead sloop with a sail-area/displacement ratio in the low twenties, the 575 is regarded as a notably good performer among heavy cruisers. Yachting World's test found her easy to handle and manageable for a couple, with powered systems to hand and the 'slippery' feel and easy motion characteristic of Humphreys' Oysters.

The centre-cockpit layout gives a large cockpit with twin wheels and walkthrough access aft, while below a raised saloon with panoramic windows leads to accommodation for up to eight guests in four cabins, including a spacious aft owner's cabin with en-suite.
