Amel 60

The Amel 60 is the French yard's flagship bluewater cruiser, designed by Berret-Racoupeau and in production since 2019. She was named European Yacht of the Year 2020 in the Luxury Cruiser class and marks a significant evolution of the long-running Amel formula.

The 60 is built around Amel's long-standing values of safety and easy handling, but breaks with tradition in her rig: where Amels were long defined by their ketch configuration, the 60 adopts a high-aspect sloop rig with a carbon mast as standard, reducing weight aloft and improving upwind performance and stability.

Despite a displacement of around 27,000 kg, the 170 m² sail plan and carbon spar give the 60 a surprisingly agile feel for a heavy-displacement cruiser. A central cockpit with a rigid shelter, opening sunroof and integrated solar keeps the crew protected, in keeping with Amel's emphasis on short-handed, all-weather passage-making.

The interior is designed to be operated by two, to sleep six easily and to carry eight in all. Amel's habit of fitting out comprehensively continues here, with appliances from an induction hob and microwave to a washer-dryer and dishwasher supplied as standard.
